Our Story
Founded with the community in mind
The word “just” has a double meaning: a focus on individualized reading instruction as well as justice for all families – including underserved communities.
Teaching students in whole class, small group, and one on one settings led Ashwin to see who benefited from different models of instruction. For Ashwin, this meant seeking to specialize beyond the training that classroom teachers receive.
Ashwin listened to many families speak about their needs. His own students encouraged him to become a reading teacher. Just Reading was born out of a dream to make reading and writing instruction more caring, holistic, and personalized for families.
